LESZEK MOZDZER

Musician and composer Leszek Mo_d_er is one of Poland's most brilliant and versatile jazz pianists. Born in 1971 in Gdansk, he started playing piano at age five and began mixing jazz and classical music early on. He first gained recognition for his improvisations on various Chopin themes and his collaborations with film score composer Zbigniew Preisner, known for his work with directors Krystof Kieslowski (of Three Colours fame) and Jan Kazmarek (director of the Oscar-winning Finding Neverland). Mo_d_er, who has played in many of the world's great concert halls, is widely considered a key figure in contemporary jazz. He is particularly renowned for his concert performances. The film shows Mo_d_er preparing for a show with the other members of his trio: musician Lars Danielsson, composer, arranger, bassist and cellist, and Israeli percussionist Zohar Fresco.
