![]() Lloyd Sullivan, an Ottawa retiree, is convinced he owns the only authentic portrait of William Shakespeare, painted from life by his ancestor John Sanders in 1603. Twelve scientific appraisals have confirmed that Sanders' portrait dates back to the 17th century. But is the enigmatic face portrayed truly that of Shakespeare? Lloyd Sullivan is going through his savings to prove it. As he pursues his dream of having the work authenticated, the portrait's secrets are gradually revealed. Battle of Wills leads viewers into a fascinating world where 17th-century art locks horns with 21st-century science and ambitions.
