Why does video playback stall or not play smoothly?

We use adaptive bitrate streaming, which means that the streaming quality will automatically adjust based on your Internet speed. If your Internet connection is poor or inconsistent you may experience problems during playback.

Here are some ways you might resolve the problem:

  • Connect to the Internet with a cable rather than WiFi, or move closer to your router.

  • It is recommended that you use the most recent version of the Chrome browser.
  • Close all other windows and applications on your computer.

  • Check that someone else connected to your wifi is not downloading something or watching a movie online.

The optimal download speed for watching a movie is between 10 and 20 mbps.

The FIFA cannot be held responsible for technical problems related to the equipment used or the internet connection. If the problem persists, contact your supplier.

Why do I see a black screen if I am watching content with AirPlay on my TV?

You likely have “Screen Mirroring” turned on in your device settings. Please turn off the screen mirroring setting and start AirPlay by selecting the “AirPlay” button in the bottom right-hand corner of the player:

Why do I see a black screen if I’m watching a film with Chromecast on my TV?

Some versions of Chromecast can’t handle transitions from one video to another. If this happens, deactivate screen sharing and launch it again once film playback begins.
