Balthazar the scarecrow holds a seashell up to his ear and hears something wonderful. A sound for which he’d leave everything else behind. Dedicated to Swiss craftsmanship, this touching short film addresses following one’s dreams in a mix of art and animation.


Rafael Sommerhalder

Born in Switzerland in 1974, Rafael Sommerhalder studied Film Direction at ECAL, in Lausanne, and Animation at the Royal College of Art, in London. He lives and works as an animator and filmmaker in Zurich, Switzerland.
