Synopsis

“Nobody is perfect” is the closing line from Some Like It Hot, which many consider to be the best comedy of all time. Billy Wilder’s hilarious films, full of caustic wit and irony, earned him six Oscars. Through filmmaker Volker Schlöndorff’s wonderful interview with Wilder, viewers are introduced to this pioneer of American film. This film by Clara and Julia Kuperberg also features archival images, commentary by critics Joseph McBride and Tony Maietta, and an interview with Paul Diamond, son of screenwriter I. A. L. Diamond, a long-time Wilder associate.
