Bonne-Maman’s apartment went up in flames, but since it was built by the eminent Le Corbusier, experts can rebuild it identical to the original, a replica of the famous apartment building where director Marjolaine Normier’s grandmother has been living for 60 years. As work advances and daily life goes on, this film humorously recounts the tale of the mythic Cité radieuse de Marseille.

Marjolaine Normier

Marjolaine Normier studied Philosophy and Political Science. She became journalist for newspapers, then documentary filmmaker. She learned how to shoot and how to edit as an autodidact, and directed her first reports for NGO and associations. She attended the documentary filmmaking workshop of the Fémis and directed, in 2016, her first full-lenght documentary, Bonne-Maman et Le Corbusier.
