Synopsis

Corps performatifs [performative bodies]
A program centred around the body: the body as sounding device, the body that resonates, the body both performative and attentive. The program features a legendary Japanese noise duo alongside five intimate works, created in close harmony with the camera.

In Trout We Dust
In Trout We Dust explores the musical world of the Berlin-based clarinet duo, The International Nothing, from the creation to the release of their album In Doubt We Trust. Dieter Kovacic, a filmmaker and musician from Vienna, accompanied the duo for more than a year—during rehearsals, at the recording studio, and on tour. The film looks at why and how Kai Fagaschinski and Michael Thieke have worked on their distinctive sound for more than 20 years. It also allows time and space for the music to be heard, and sheds light on the social and aesthetic context in which the duo work. Also featuring: French roads, Berlin roofs and Swiss casseroles.
