Vienna has produced some of the greatest classical composers and musicians in history. It is in this musical city that Sébastien Ventura follows the Quebec violinist Alexandre Da Costa as he records a unique album with the Vienna Symphony. The young musician upsets the conventions of this mythical orchestra with his innovative arrangements. And resurrects an old-fashioned manner of conducting, in the style of Johann Strauss. Da Costa describes his attachment to the Austrian city, where he studied, as well as his vision of classical music and the profession of violinist.
A graduate of the Conservatoire d'art dramatique de Québec, Sébastien Ventura began his career as a stage and television actor in 1993. From 2001 to 2003, he studied filmmaking at the Institut national de l’image et du son and directing at the Conservatoire d'art dramatique de Montréal. He has worked as a cameraman and art director and as a video editor. He has made short films, as well as corporate and promotional videos and Web videos. In 2002, he made his directing debut with L'homme de Rangoon, and in 2015, directed the tango show Chispa, with choreographer Marika Landry.
