During this Connexions Lunch, Jonathan Pouthier, member of the jury for the 37th FIFA and Conservation attaché at the Film collection department of the National Museum of Modern Art, Centre Pompidou in Paris will shed light on films on art, its evolution in the digital landscape and its stakes for the renowned museum. By using concrete examples, he will share with us his favorite pieces and inspire you by stimulating your creative minds!

Jonathan Pouthier - Conservation attaché at the Film collection
Jonathan Pouthier is a conservation attaché at the Film collection of the National Museum of Modern Art (Musée national d’art moderne), Center Pompidou (Paris). After graduating at the Fémis (National School of Image and Sound), he worked for two years with the KOW gallery and Coproduction Office in Berlin. Since 2012, he has been assisting curator Philippe-Alain Michaud with the programming of the collection and supervises the weekly FILM program. He conceived the cycles and retrospectives of, among others: Croatian Avant-Garde (2012), Film Culture (2013), Shirley Clarke, an American Experience (2013), Lieux Communs (2014, with E. Camporesi), Duchamp du Film (2014) , with E. Camporesi), Metacartoons (2016, with E. Camporesi). Among the regular program, the Film Collection service has also initiated an annual program of conferences and screenings, rethinking the film as a monitor of reflection on the work of Art and its exhibition activities (L’Exposition d’un film, 2015 and 2016 in collaboration with Mathieu Copeland, Pour une histoire de l’art projetée, 2017, Projeté/Exposé, 2018 at the Palazzo Grassi in Venice). He currently co-directs the Seminar Screening Rooms (with E. Camporesi) at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
