Quebec Premiere – Conversation lead by Nicole Gingras, artist in attendance (Montreal only)

A short experimental video illustrating the travails of humans and the exercise of religion in survival. As we progress with technology and education, our hunger changes from what we get from the ground to knowledge we acquire.

Shelley Niro, member of the Six Nations Reserve, Turtle Clan, Bay of Quinte Mohawk, is a multidisciplinary artist who defies stereotypical depictions of the First Nations. She is a prolific director counting 15 short and feature-length films and videos. Ranging from 2003 to 2017, the following 5 short videos highlight her discrete, yet direct way of addressing crucial questions relating to identity, memory, land, and mourning in a lucid and dreamlike fashion.
