Synopsis

Canadian Premiere

The film traces the career of American poet and illustrator Ashley Bryan. Even at age 95, Bryan has the soul of a child. The author and illustrator of more than 50 books for children, he also makes magical puppets and other art objects, inspired by his African heritage, from salvaged objects. This American army vet has experienced racism and segregation, as well as the horrors of the Second World War. His experiences inspired him to spread beauty, joy, and love through the creation of art.
