Synopsis

A late afternoon at the greenhouse of the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. A curious visitor lets himself be locked in. But the greenhouse is haunted by the spirit of Henri Rousseau. Interrupted by the ghostly voice of the painter, the visitor oscillates between dream and reality, when the greenhouse becomes a jungle, populated by characters, animals and plants from the Dream of the Douanier Rousseau (1910).

Nicolas Autheman

After studying political science, Nicolas Autheman worked in 2007 as a research assistant of Barbet Schroeder on the film "The advocate of terror". After having written several reports abroad, he made since a dozen documentary films for Arte and France 5 different videos for the national museums (Mucem, City of Architecture, etc.) Dedicated as well to contemporary writers’ portraits such as Erri de Luca, who was a painter only of Henri Rousseau or a loser in India, his films are explored in a different way.
