Synopsis

Montreal Premiere

LON is an animated film made from beautiful black-and-white drawings that pay tribute to Jewish artist Lon Landau, born in 1910 and deceased in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945. The life of the promising set designer was changed forever when he was detained in a Belgian concentration camp during the Second World War. Despite this, he continued to create art by designing puppets. LON is an ode to the power of the imagination and the human capacity to preserve dignity under atrocious living conditions.
