Short film about the difficulty of remembering and the importance of forgetting. It portraits a middle aged woman, through her voice and stories she tells about analogical cameras she has been using during her life, for art and film making. Images of her hands opening and closing the cameras and clips from 8mm shot in Southern Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego are shown.
Salla Tykkä lives and works in Helsinki. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki in 2003. She has been working with photography, video and film since 1996. Her works have in recent years been seen in solo and group exhibitions in London, Norrköping, Amsterdam, New York and Paris, and she has participated in Biennale of Sydney (2010) and Venice Biennale (2001).
