Canadian Premiere

How do you survive the tragic loss of a child? Suse Lowenstein was confronted with this question when the plane her son was flying on was the target of a terrorist attack. She finds her answer in art and sculpture. Lowenstein found an outlet for her pain and that of so many other grieving mothers in the creation of a monumental work called “Dark Elegy”. Her sculpture depicts women contorted in pain at the news of the death of their child. Making its Canadian premiere, the documentary directed with great sensitivity by Jill Campbell, pays tribute to art and its life-saving power.
