Synopsis

World Premiere

FIFA, Main Film, Diversité Artistique Montréal (DAM) and Digital Cut are pleased to highlight the talent of two filmmakers, following the launch of a unique initiative aimed at filmmakers from Quebec's immigration community. For this first edition, the two laureates are Gabriela de Andrade and Alexandre Paskanoi.

Called « Écrans Divers », this new program seeks to enhance the cinematographic experience and production of these filmmakers, helping them to produce and disseminate a short documentary on a practice, an artistic process, a portrait of an artist(s), one or more forms of artistic expression, or cultural phenomena.

This short documentary tells the story of Vanesa G.R. Montoya, the first black dancer of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. Following her as she mounts her first major piece, we discover the immensity of the work that goes into every production.
