Recognized as one of the great artists of the Italian Renaissance, Tintoretto profoundly changed the artistic landscape of his era. An eccentric and indomitable artist, he left behind a massive body of work. Making its North American premiere, this documentary by Erminio Perocco, shot in Venice, takes us on a wonderful journey into the world of this unique artist. Featuring interviews with experts, this film looks at Tintoretto’s work from a whole new perspective.

This film will also be presented in Montreal on March 21st and 28th.

Erminio Perocco

Director and creative producer.
Born in Venice in 1961, Erminio Perrocco lives and works in Rome and Milan.
He is the director of many documentaries such as Once we were children about the American writer Joe Lansdale, in Sundance Film Festival selection, shot in United States; La bellezza e il senso, shot in Venice; Via!, a documentary about the street Appia (Rome), commissioned by the Ministero dei Beni e Attivita? Culturali.
In 2014, he produced and directed A - Elegia di Augusto, a documentary commissioned by Mondadori Electa and the Soprintendenza Speciale per i Beni Archeologici of Rome, presented at Rome Film Festival in 2014.
In 2016, he produced and directed the documentary God blessed Calabria for Donne in arte. In october 2018,se he won the best pitch trailer award at Trailer Festival with the project The Badway, a rock music tv series. He is working on a new format about the most famous art cities of Italy developed for LuxVide, an important production company based in Rome. From 2006 to 2012, he was Ettore Bernabei personal assistant and project manager, LuxVide ceo; he worked on some Italian miniseries and also international projects such as Sotto il cielo di Roma, Preferisco il Paradiso, Agostino, Guerra e Pace, Coco? Chanel, Enrico Mattei, Maria. During these years he also worked on traditional series such as Don Matteo and Ho sposato uno sbirro, also produced by LuxVide.
He also works as professor for the Television Screenwriting and Production Master of Cattolica University in Milan.
He’s graduated in medieval history at History department of Venice University.
He worked for Saatchi&Saatchi, Ogilvy&Mather and Canard Adv as copywriter; he was hired by Armando Testa’s company, the most important Italian communication agency, as creative project manager . He developed lots of mainstream adv campaigns for relevant companies such as Telecom Italia, Tim, Lavazza, Pirelli, Gatorade, Yomo, Parmacotto, Mulino Bianco, Fiat Auto, Ford, Renault. Erminio Perocco is a multiple award winner: he has won more than 200 international festivals, among them the Cannes Lion award, the New York Film Festival, Chicago Film Festival, the Telegatto, the Art Directors Club and the Mezzominuto d’Oro. Since 2002 he works as commercial director: for Harold first, then for HaroldMotion, Mercurio Cinematografica and Central Groucho.
In 2012, he launched his career as independent director. He developed and directed lots adv campaigns such as Crodino series of commercials and GreenNetwork Italian campaign. He also directed some Italian mini-series: I gialli del Maresciallo C., twelve episodes broadcast by RaiUno, A un pelo dalla Victoria, starring Victoria Cabello and Vittoria Belvedere, developed primarily for Facebook but broadcast by Fox, Comedy Central and RealTime, Una giornata un po’ speciale, starring Maria Grazia Cucinotta and Claudio Bigagli for Poste Italiane.
In the last years he developed and directed commercials for Kerakoll, Allianz, Fiorella Rubino and also four commercials for Green Network Energy GB in London.
Nowadays he is developing a project for Visirun (a Verizon company) and one for Eataly.
