Personifying Mother Earth, she walks through her domain. She observes her environment and what has happened to it. She weeps. She feels violated. Not only has man damaged her but they continue to damage each other. She will visit and start again sometime soon.

Shelley Niro, member of the Six Nations Reserve, Turtle Clan, Bay of Quinte Mohawk, is a multidisciplinary artist who defies stereotypical depictions of the First Nations. She is a prolific director counting 15 short and feature-length films and videos. Ranging from 2003 to 2017, the following 5 short videos highlight her discrete, yet direct way of addressing crucial questions relating to identity, memory, land and mourning in a lucid and dreamlike fashion.
