A presentation of Cinema Under the Stars and Funambules Médias
Agnès Varda and JR have common points: passion and questioning about images in general, and more precisely about places and devices to show them, to share them, to exhibit them. Agnes chose the cinema. JR chose to create outdoor photo galleries. When Agnès and JR met in 2015, he and she immediately wanted to work together, to shoot a film in France, far from the cities, traveling with JR's photographic (and magic) truck. When encounters or projects were made, the two artists went to the others, listened to them, photographed them, and sometimes posted them. The film also tells the story of their friendship that grew during the shoot, between surprises and teasing, laughing at their differences.

How is it to live in the dream of others? Located 2,000 km from the Amazon and 18 hours from Rio de Janeiro, the city of Brasília, capital of Brazil, is a mythical and once idealized place. In 1956, in a democratic renewal, the visionary architect Oscar Niemeyer and the urban planner Lucio Costa designed a master plan and facilities to micromanage the daily activity of human life, a living space reinvented for the new Brazilian citizen. Today, the city serves as a backdrop to the social isolation and changing values of this gigantic country. Punctuated by an intimate and haunting soundtrack and images plunging us into the heart of the metropolis, this documentary shows us the life of today in a utopian ideal become concrete.
