As of Sunday, January 13 at 2 pm, films on art will have an ideal home in Quebec City: the International Festival of Films on Art (FIFA) has launched a monthly programme at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ) with a screening of Chagall, peintre de la musique (“Chagall: Painting Music”). From January through May, one Sunday every month, a fine selection of documentary films will be screened at the museum’s Sandra and Alain Bouchard Auditorium, for the delectation of art lovers and cinephiles alike. This winter, the selected films will highlight key figures in the history of Quebec and international art: Jean-Paul Jérôme, Pierre Bourgault, Lalie Douglas, and Diego Vélasquez.
Always keen to build partnerships throughout Quebec, FIFA is happy to join forces with MNBAQ and strengthen its ties with the cultural community and general public of Quebec City. This first FIFA/MNBAQ screening of 2019 follows a very successful collaboration during FIFA’s 36th edition in 2018, and this fruitful synergy will surely continue to gain momentum as we approach the Festival’s 37th edition, which will take place March 19–31, 2019.
